
An attorney at law, Cochran worked at Beneficial Finance as its first female manager on Maui, was as a UNISERV for the Hawaii State Teacher Association, the owner of Paia Plantation, served as a member of the Hawaii State Board of Education from 2002 to 2010, and served as the Maui County Democratic Party 13-1 Precinct President.
Visitations will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Holy Rosary Church in Paia from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with service over urn to begin at 11:00 a.m.; burial of urn at a later date.
Mary is survived by her husband, Billy R. Cochran; son, John (Janna) Cochran; grandchildren, Regina (Sione) Latu, Joli Cochran, Jenna Cochran, Johnette Cochran, John Cochran; great grandchildren, Ryan and Rayden Ursua-Latu; brothers, Florencio Rubican, George (Diane) Rubican; sisters, Juanita Vierra, Lourdes Cordeiro, Antonia (Jerry) Pagay, Ponciana Dizon, Marcia Tavai, and Bernadette (Ed) Adair; predeceased by, parents, Guillermo and Maxima Ribucan; son, Billy R. Cochran Jr.; daughter, Ann Dickman; grandson, Jared Cochran; brothers, Lucas Ribucan, James Ribucan; sisters, Margaret Cabalo and Miriam Caldwell.
