Beloved Husband and Best Friend: On Maui, he was the Official Photographer for the Red Hat Society Valley Isle Vixens, a volunteer at EMAR (East Maui Animal Refuge), and an accomplished magician who performed at senior centers and Hale Makua. He was the quintessential handyman and could fix anything that was broken, from plumbing to electrical to mechanical. He made his home and garden beautiful with his constant maintenance and loving care. NASCAR, Indy 500, and Grand Prix races were his passions. In his younger years he was on the pit crews and official photographer for many of these races. At the age of twenty he built his own race car, which was a source of pride and joy. Orchid propagation and cultivation, photography, and world travel were among his favorite activities. Since 2004, he and his beloved wife Lynn visited South America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, French Polynesian, the Middle East and Asia. Photographs he took on Easter Island were among his favorites. He is survived by his adoring wife Lynn Austin, beloved step-daughter Katherine Klein, brother Richard Zasadil, cousins Virginia Preuss and Linda Mejdrich, Maui friends Panna Cappelli, Cheryl Hendrickson, Caleb Rhodes and Charlaine Vitarelli and Silky Terrier pups, Annie and Joey.
