Shizuko K. Mukai, 78, of Kahului, Maui, passed away on December 4, 2011 at Kahului Hale Makua, under the care of Hospice Maui. She was born on May 5, 1933 in Yokohama, Japan. Mrs. Mukai was predeceased by her husband, Noboru Mukai and her 3 siblings in Japan. Mrs. Mukai was devoted to her ministry and community service as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, with the Japanese community on Oahu and Maui. She is survived by her son, Clifford (Keiko); a sister-in-law Junko (Takashi) Kondo of Yokohama, Japan; step sons Patrick (Jessie) of California and Glenn (Dawn) of Wailuku; grandchildren Ryan, Gregg (Tiffaney) Mukai and Karilee (Shane) Yoshizawa; and five great grandchildren.
Visitation: Visitation will be held from 10:00a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2012, at Ballard Family Mortuary in Kahului.
