He was born and raised in Honolulu. After his service with the U.S. Army, he moved to Maui where he started his family. He and his wife, JoAnn, moved their young family to Kona where he began work as a mechanic until he retired from Isemoto Contracting Company. He spent much of his life loving and providing for his family and friends; he enjoyed gardening, fishing, woodworking, and helping friends with projects of their own.
He is survived by wife Jo Ann Kaneshiro, sons: Kapena (Jennifer) Kaneshiro, Kekaha (Eileen) Kaneshiro, daughters: Kaua (Erich) Jackson, Kawaiala (Joey) Akana, grandchildren: Keilyn (Granddaughter) and Hilina’i Akana (Grandson), and sisters: Sharon (Brian) Sakamoto, Germaine (Ronnie) Oshiro, and Iris (Bryan) Whitaker.
Services will be held on April 25, 2026, at 74-429 Kealakehe Parkway (Hawaii Big Game Fishing Club Clubhouse) with visitation at 10 a.m., service at 11 a.m., with a lunch to follow.
