Adelis was born in Bellinzago Novarese, Italy on the 19th of May 1942 and moved to Canada to marry Silvano in 1978. In 1981, they moved from Victoria to Kamloops to make their new home.
Adelis was pre-deceased by Silvano in 2008. She is survived by her stepsons Marco (Sandra Danino) and Davide (Tammy Uyeda).
Adelis will be remembered with great love by her five grandchildren Sacha, Luca, Matteo, Luca and Stefano. She will also be missed by her sisters, respected families in Italy and her many friends here in Kamloops and in Italy.
For the last two and a half years, Adelis lived at Berwick on the Park where she found herself surrounded by many wonderful, new friends and an environment and atmosphere that rejuvenated her. In her last few weeks before going to The Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice, her special friends and staff members at Berwick supported and cared for her. To them we would like to extend our most heartfelt gratitude for their friendship and compassion.
Adelis chose and walked in on her own to The Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice on the afternoon of Friday, August 16th but remained only a few days as she passed on the morning of the 19th.
Her last days at the Hospice were filled with friends and family constantly by her side coming and going. Adelis was aware and conscience of all those visiting as in many instances she would wave goodbye to them.
The family would like to thank the many healthcare providers at Royal Inland Hospital and at the Kelowna Cancer Clinic, in particular Dr. Petrik, Dr. Proctor, Dr. Wege and the wonderful Emergency Room staff at RIH for their top notch care. Thank you also to the wonderful, caring staff at Berwick On the Park and the thoughtful, compassionate staff and volunteers at The Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice.
Special thanks to: her friends Catherine, Ian, Norma and Mike Coster for always being there for her ever since the passing of Silvano; the Annicchiarico family for being a pillar ever since our arrival in Kamloops, and the family of Lina and late husband Angelo Munegatto for the many years of friendship, companionship and adventures.
To her old neighborhood in Dallas a warm thank you to all for the many decades of friendship and, at her new home in Berwick a sincere thank you to the many new friends that Adelis came to know over the years there.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice.
A celebration of Adelis’ life will be held at Sacred Heart Cathedral on Saturday October the 12th, 2024 at 11 am
