Alice Joyce Desmond (Silmon), born May 1945 in Winnipeg Manitoba passed on December 26, 2025 in Kamloops, BC from a broken heart.
Alice was friendly, outgoing, outspoken and truly full of life. She had a natural way of connecting with people and was never afraid to speak her mind, share her thoughts or bring laughter into any room. Her presence was vibrant, confident and unforgettable. She loved the finer things in life and had a deep appreciation for beauty, style and moments worth savoring.
Alice especially loved living in Kamloops and was grateful for the life it afforded! She loved her view of the city from her dining room table which she admired, as we shared her last meal with her on Christmas Day sipping Mimosas. It was absolutely perfect!
She was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Anne Silmon, sister Margaret and the love of her life Patrick Desmond, husband of 52 years. She is survived by her sisters Evelyn, Edith and Brenda, her four daughters Nola, Tannis, Lynett and Shannon, their families and dear friends.
Alice loved the magic of Christmas, shiny angels and sparkling lights! Alice is at peace and sent love and gratitude for the care and conversations of her final weeks through a December 27th Christmas light show for Judy, Hannah, Shannon, Trevor and family. Friendships new and old are a Christmas Gift, thank you Sharon Andres for the care and friendship you provided Alice. Thank you, Aaron Glover and the team at Pure Pharmacy for your continual care and friendship through this pilgrimage.
Prayers will be held on Friday, January 2, 2025 at 7:30 pm and Funeral Mass Saturday, January 3, 2025 at 1:30 pm at Sacred Heart Cathedral.
