Dennis was born in Goderich, Ontario to Tom and Ethel Foster on June 4, 1951. The family relocated to Kamloops, BC when Tom retired from the service and where Dennis spent the rest of his life.
Dennis is survived by his wife Caroline Foster and her two children Melody Shepherd and Brett Shepherd as well as a niece Pam Willgard and nephew Shane Foster.
Dennis is predeceased by his parents Tom and Ethel Foster and his two brothers Kevin and Blair Foster.
In his younger years, Dennis provided a DJ service and built stereo systems. He also worked with his father at Grand Vue TV and finally worked alongside Brett at Epic Industries until he retired.
Dennis had a passion for life and had many interests. You would often find he and Caroline sitting on the back deck just enjoying their garden and yard. He and Caroline loved to travel and his camera was always on his hip. So many things would spark his attention. The family was used to walking and then having to look for him as something caught his eye that he just had to stop and take a picture. Another one of his great passions was watches. He could not help but be awed by the intricacies of the watch itself and had a healthy collection.
Dennis was a man that loved people. There was never a person he would not stop to converse with. So many interesting discussions he had with so many people, some whom he had just met and some he would never see again. His smile, conversations and gregarious disposition are truly missed.
A service for Dennis is being held at St Paul’s Anglican Church on April 27, 2024 at 11 am. Retired Bishop Barbra Andrews will be officiating. There will be a tea following the service.
