It is with the deepest sorrow to share the sudden passing of Eugene Joseph Stradecke in December of 2025. We can only be consoled by the belief that he is now with his own parents in the loving home of our Lord and Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ.
He was beloved by many, including his lifelong friend Twyla Stradecke, daughters Danielle Evjen (Gregg), Brandy Vanghel (Miles), Nancy Lane (Jason),and son Gene Jones (Connie). He treasured his legacy as a grandfather and will be sorely missed by his grandchildren Danica, Sydney, Xander, Mira, Gilliam, Elizabeth, Charlotte, Jaxson, Joey, Jayden and Bella. Eugene was a cherished brother to seven siblings; Heather (John), Lin (Ken), Marion (Barry), Lyle (Arla), Maureen (Fred), Nova (Roger), Susan (Brad), and countless nieces, nephews and friends.
Eugene was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in April of 1956. He grew up in a tight community amongst his siblings and friends. He had a passion for reading, cars, motorcycles and music. He was a proud alumni of the University of Saskatchewan. With his education as a sociologist, he could not help but have a heart for serving his community. For those who knew him, could only love him. He had a heart of gold, a keen mind for intellect, yet marched to the beat of his own drum.
A service to celebrate his life is to be held on Friday, February 6th at 1:00 PM at Schoening Funeral Service located at 513 Seymour St Kamloops BC.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to be made to the Mustard Seed. This was a place that Eugene found much comfort and purpose. https://theseed.ca/services/kamloopswc
