My sincere condolences go out to Dick Reid's family.  I have known the
Reid brothers for many years and my late husband - Donald Munro - went to
school with them.  May your wonderful memories of Dick bring peace and
comfort to you all at this sad time.

Mary Ann, Donna Helen and families. condolences to you all on the loss of your dad. We always enjoyed our visits with Dick and Auntie Donna when we were in Kamloops. He was always so welcoming and interested in all our stories. No matter how prepared it leaves a big hole when we lose our parents. I am sure you are experiencing that. Know that he is at peace and his spirit is ever near..   we are away travelling at the time of the service or we would be there.

Dear Mary Ann, Donna and Helen, I was so sorry to hear about your Dad.  My memories of him, Peggy and you girls go back to about as far as I can remember.  Our families shared such wonderful times together at the lake and in town.  I will never forget how generous and patient "Mr. Reid" was in spending hours taking us waterskiing and how lovely both your parents were in always making things fun for everyone.  It is so sad to think that all four of our parents are now gone... we are so lucky to be left with such incredible memories though.  May those memories be of comfort you in the days and years to come.

To Family and friends of Dick Reid  May you rest in peace. My condolences to all the family who have always been close to me and My family as Dick and Peggy were my sons godparents and were honoured to have them there to look over him and will still do so. there will be many happy memories for me and my family love to all

Dear Mary Ann, Donna, Helen and families:Your Dad, Dick, or Mr Reid as we called him, was a bright light in our lives growing up across the street from you on Knollwood Crescent.   He and your Mom always embraced us as other kids in your family.   I think he was actually still a kid himself!  My brothers used to knock on the door and ask if Mr Reid could come out and play!  Personally, he showed me what an involved Dad looked like in the 1960s when a lot of men ignored their kids.  He also showed me how men were supposed to treat their wives and kids.  He took us skiing, water-skiing at the lake, built the famous toboggan run for the neighbourhood with Mr Thomas, built us all skateboards from old roller skates, took us out in the hills and taught us target shooting.  He was the consummate Dad but the fact that he made a safe place for us, who were not his own, was what made him remarkable and special forever to me.  I enjoyed sharing Christmas cards with him every year and our visits with him in the old neighbourhood, where everything seemed the same after 50 years and there was always a bed in the basement to curl up in, just like in childhood, and know that Duck was there and all was right with the world.  I will miss him just being there.  Know that his legacy of love lives on in your families and in so many other lives, mine included.  He deserves every reward that he is surely receiving in heaven with your Mom.  Well done, Richard: you will always be a prince among men in my memories.  I love you all still and look forward to celebrating Dick's life with you on April 29th.  God bless.
