It is with much sadness but many fond memories that we announce the passing of Shanno Lebano (née Dewar) on November 30, 2025. She is now reunited with her husband John. She was predeceased by her parents and her only sister. She is survived by many friends in Southern Ontario, where she was born and raised.
She loved her work as a teacher as her professional career spanned forty years throughout Ontario and B.C. She and her husband, who was an RCMP officer, were often transferred. She was always a welcoming hostess, the source of fond memories, sparkling conversations and nuggets of wisdom for family and friends.
To her many good friends in Kamloops, a special thank-you for the support and friendship throughout the years as she leaves this special quote from Winnie the Pooh: “If there ever comes a tomorrow when we can’t be together, keep me in your heart. I’ll stay there forever.”
As an expression of sympathy, a donation to a charity of your choice, or simply an act of kindness, would be most appreciated.
A Prayer Service for Shanno will be held on Monday, December 15th at 8:15 p.m. at Sacred Heart Cathedral, led by Father Derrick Cameron. The Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, December 16th at 11:00 a.m., with interment at Evergreen Mausoleum to follow directly after.
All arrangements are entrusted to Schoening Funeral Service.
