During the evening of May 30, 2013, Bill Bullock passed away peacefully at home after a long and brave battle with cancer. Bill wanted to remain in the comfort of his home until the end of his life, and was able to do so thanks to the unwavering love and support from his wife Sandy, his daughter Crystal, his sons Brad and Ryan, his special daughter Debbie and Sandy's Mom Alice. Their love and devotion to him kept him comfortable and at peace during his final days.
Bill will be forever missed by his wife Sandy, their children, Crystal (Rich), Brad (Katty) and Ryan (Debbie). He will also be greatly missed by Corey (Josee) and Tracey (Bill), his beloved children from a previous marriage. Keeping their papa close in their hearts are his beautiful grandchildren, Chad, Dayna, Dawson, Liam, Quinn, Lauren, Taya & Kailey. Bill also leaves his father Mike, his brothers Steve (Charlene), Ernie (Shayne), Len (Amber) and his sister Gloria (Franz), his mother-in-law Alice (Bobby) and many nephews and nieces. Also missing Bill every day is his faithful four-legged furry friend, Brewski, who rarely left his side.
Predeceasing Bill was his mother, Mary, father-in-law, Henry, and brother-in-law, John.
Bill was born on May 15, 1949 in Vegreville, Alberta. He met Sandy in Edmonton in 1980 and they moved to Kamloops in 1987, where they’ve called home since that time.
Golf and gardening were two of Bill's hobbies; however, the greatest joy in his life came from his family. His favorite activity was watching first his children and later his grandchildren participate in their different sports and activities. Bill dearly loved all of his grandchildren and felt very fortunate to have Taya and Kailey living so close to him. They shared a special relationship and their frequent visits uplifted him and brought him happiness on even the most difficult days.
Upon his retirement from his position as a welder in 2009, Bill and Sandy were introduced to the joys of travelling. They took many special trips, but their trip of a lifetime was to Bora Bora in 2011. In fact, nearing the end of his life, with the help of Ryan and Brad, Bill was able to go to Ryan and Debbie's so he could see artwork of Bora Bora in their home.
Sharing time with their father and papa was always important on Sundays in the Bullock home and it was the greatest gift Bill’s children could have given him.
The Bullock family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Laurie and Dr. Wiltshire (who was always available and even came to see Bill at home several times during the course of his illness), Gail from Community Nursing who visited on a regular basis and took care of him with great kindness and compassion, as well Dr. Rollheiser and Dr. Collier. Also, heartfelt gratitude for their tremendous support goes to Kamloops Minor Hockey Association and to Sandy's daycare families.
Family and friends are invited to the Bullock home at 424 Garibaldi Drive, on Saturday June 15th, 2013 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, for a celebration of Bill's life.
Blood transfusions greatly improved the quality of Bill’s life when he was ill, so we ask, in lieu of flowers, that support be given to the Red Cross Association either by a financial donation or by registering as a blood donor.
