Esther Louise Green

We are sad to announce the passing of our mother, Esther Louise Green on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at her home in Waimanalo, Oahu. A resident of Hawaii for 75 years, Esther Martin was born in Pasadena, California on February 22, 1928 to Mabel Enloe Martin and Arthur Martin. She had loving siblings, a sister, Melba Craig and a brother, Kenneth Martin, both of whom predeceased her. Esther traveled to Honolulu in 1950 after graduating from Pasadena City College, with dreams of traveling the world. While living and working in Honolulu, Esther met Robert M. Green and in 1952, they married. Esther and Bob had four children; Jody Green, Jennifer Taddei, Jason Green, and July Green. After Bob's death, she met Peter T. Vorfeld (deceased); they wed in 1979 and were able to travel abroad extensively. Besides her four children, Esther is survived by five grandchildren; Kara, Nicolas, Jeffrey, Lauren, and Anna, and two great grandchildren; Elijah and Harvest. Esther also had two step children, Victoria Vorfeld Kukuruda and John C. Vorfeld (deceased). Esther loved sailing, watching for whales, reading, and word puzzles. She was loved by many and will be missed by all. Private services will be held February 22, 2026 in Waimanalo, Hawaii.
