Kam Hong Young

It is with deep love and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, who left us peacefully on 4/08/2026 at 103 years old.
Mom was born in Honolulu, HI on 10/22/1922 to Henry Kam Ung and Rose Kam Chin Loo. She was married for 55 years to our Dad, Paul Thick Poy Young, who passed in 1998.
She was a master crafter and could make anything with fabric, yarn and more. Making her own patterns.
Mom was a shining light in our lives, devoted to her family and a source of strength for all who knew her. She also had a great sense of humor.
She is survived by her children, Katherine Shimizu (Thomas), Charlotte Gee (Bruce), Marilyn Dung (Francis passed 2002), Wilfred Young (Sofia), Natalie Kau (Harry), Leydon Young (Patricia), 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, also her sister, Kam Ngan Yu and her 4 children. Preceded in death by brothers Richard (Mary) and Kenneth (Guen) Loo.
She has left a legacy of love, compassion and strength that will live on in our hearts forever.
A private celebration of her life will be held at Hawaiian Memorial Park.
