born in Lahaina, Maui.
A steadfast husband, father, and grandfather, Robert, known fondly as John, worked tirelessly for the
federal government for over 30 years, served on the Honolulu Board of Realtors, and was a lifelong
learner through his love of reading and acquiring knowledge. He was a graduate of Kamehameha
schools, where he was called Ko’iku. He went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of
Science in Business Administration from Hawai’i Pacific college.
He enjoyed playing golf, coaching various sports teams, and in his later years, helping care for and
spending time with his grandchildren.
Robert is survived by his wife, Gaila R. Richardson, son Jared K. Richardson (Angela), daughter Janel M.
Richardson; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by eldest son Jason H.
Richardson.
