Rodney Noboru Shimoko was born on September 19, 1939 in Honolulu, to Donald and Fumie (Oumi) Shimoko. He retired in 2011 as the President of Unified Enterprises, a soft frozen dessert and equipment distributor business that he owned with his wife Arlene. Rodney passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness, at home in Kaneohe surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Arlene and four children; sons Steven (Jennifer), Scott and Daniel (Erika); daughter Kathryn “Maki” (Jason) Alba; grandsons Jason Shimoko, Jaren Shimoko, Justin Shimoko, Jeven Shimoko, Deven Alba and Kaimana Shimoko. Rodney is also survived by his sisters Florence Sakai and Doris Haneda, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetary. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the service to follow at 10:30 a.m. Private inurnment will be at the Hawaiian Memorial Veteran’s Cemetery. The family kindly requests no flowers
