Samuel (Sam) Gail Johnson, age 82, died on February 1, 2023 in Mililani, Hawaii. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carol Johnson, his daughters, Carrie VanSlyke (Michael), Samantha Johnson, and Bertie Johnson, granddaughter, Kaila Hudson (Joshua), great-granddaughter, Eowyn Hudson, brothers, Harry, Norman, Don and sister, Norma and several nieces and a nephew. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gail and Iola Johnson and his sister, Eunice. He was born February 5, 1940 in Warren, Ohio and graduated from Braceville High School in 1958. He served four years in the US Navy and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1978. He worked as a project manager and in other capacities throughout his career with EG&G, ECIII and Traxx in Las Vegas, NV and Yuma, AZ. After retirement, he enjoyed working again as a Sam’s Club greeter. He served on two boards of the Assemblies of God churches he attended. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family. His favorite place to be in Hawaii was enjoying a shave ice from Matsumoto’s on the North Shore watching the waves roll in. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
