

Dr. Harry Stanley (Stan) Jones entered Heaven on September 11, 2025 at home in Kailua, Hawaii. Stan was born March 24, 1931 in Decatur, Illinois to Clarence and Doris McClelland Jones, who predeceased him, along with his son Hal Stanley Jones, sisters Joan and Phyllis, and previous wives Catherine Martin, Corinne Bemis, and Roberta Nemeth Jones.
He is survived by his wife Karin Johnson Sorge Jones, children: Deborah Weatherford and Roger Jones, daughter-in-law Lori Jones, grandchildren: Brian (Tina) Weatherford, Elizabeth (Andrew) Hickman, Dezaray Jones, Samantha (Nolan) Durham, Jacob Jones, Martin (Heather) Jones, Megan Reno, Benjamin (Abby), and Hannah Jones, and twelve great-Grandchildren, stepchildren Suzy Treischel, Brian (Betty) Nemeth, Greg Nemeth, Joshua (Yanbo Liao) Sorge, Linnea Sorge, Michael (Kat) Sorge, and step-grandchildren Claire, Atticus, Anders, Grace, Elijah, and Annalise Sorge.
Stan was a member of First Presbyterian Ko’olau, The Caledonia Society of Hawaii, Honolulu County Genealogical Society, MENSA Hawaii, UCLA and USC Alumni Associations, and American MENSA. He also attended Kailua Community Church. Stan was a CPA, Certified Association Executive, and Certified Speaking Professional. He served as City Treasurer for Inglewood, California for six terms and on the Honolulu Tax Appeal Board. He was immensely proud of becoming an Eagle Scout and of passing that tradition down the generations.
Stan was a retired Lieutenant Colonel in The California National Guard, having served on active duty during the Korean Conflict. He was the liason between the LAPD and California Army National Guard during the 1965 Watts Riots, also serving in the Inspector General’s Office and as a West Coast Recruiter for West Point Military Academy.
Stan taught Western Accounting Practices in Romania and Ukraine with USAID. He loved to travel, having visited five continents and all fifty states.
