His devotion to his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and his firm belief in Jesus Christ supported him and ultimately gave him peace during his passing.
Stanley was also known as Bobby growing up. He was born to the late
Harry Kanahele Au, Sr. and Lillian “Dee Dee” Souza on September 2,
1939 in Kahuku, Oahu, Hawaii. He dropped out of Kahuku High school
at an early age to work and help his parents support their large family.
He was the second oldest of seven children. He entered the United States
Marine Corps in 1961. He was Honorably Discharged on October 15,
1967 after serving in Vietnam. He was awarded the Good Conduct
Medal 1 st award, Vietnam Service Medal, Purple Heart Medal and
National Defense Service Medal. He was a very humble and quiet man
never boasting about his hard work and accomplishments.
Stanley worked for Mercantile Trucking Service from 1967 as a diesel
mechanic to a truck driver until he retired as a truck driver in 2001. He
was also a member of the Hawaii Teamsters & Allied Workers Local
996. Stanley was blessed with a large and loving family. He dedicated
his life to his eleven children. Stanley is survived by his sons Stanley Jr.,
Robert, Thomas, Charles (Kalani), Michael and Richard (Ikaika); his
daughters Stanaleen, Sharaleen (Midget), Lorraleen (Fatso) and
Maeleen; his 22 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by his daughter, Sherryleen.
Stanley will be buried at the Hawaii State Veteran’s Cemetery in
Kaneohe, Hawaii on June 2, 2020 at 1pm. Private services.
