Audine O Slater

Audine Ola Slater, 86, of Linn Valley, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at home. Visitation will be Saturday, January 5, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas Ctiy, Kansas 66112. The visitation will be followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM. Audine will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens at 94th and State Avenue, Kansas City, Kansas.

Audine was born November 26, 1926 in Ozone, Arkansas. She married Eugene L. Slater on March 22, 1949 and they moved to Kansas City, Kansas in 1953. She was preceded in death by her parents Elsie and George Williams and her daughter Susan Amrheine, son Robert Slater, brothers Deahl and Rubin Williams.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene, sons Roy Don, Johnnie Slater and daughter Shelley Bradbury, her three sisters, Marie Elledge, Fern Lieble, Ann Slavens and her brother Doyle Williams, 6 grandchildren, Jennifer, Robyn, Aunalise, Danielle, Jeremiah, Sarah, and 7 great grandchildren Christina, Robert, Haylen, Sage, Aiden, Donovan and Layla. As a foster mother she opened her heart and her home to many children. She loved going to Linn Valley Church, gardening, music, gathering with family and friends, and her cats.

Audine will be missed by all that were touched by her big heart.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society.
