

Barbara J. "Luci" Gustin, 65, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2012 at North Kansas City Hospital, in North Kansas City, Missouri. Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 23rd at the Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to North Kansas City Hospice House, 2900 Clay Edwards Drive, North Kansas City, Missouri 64116.
Barbara was born January 4, 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri to Robert and Mary Hoenscheidt, and she was a lifelong area resident. She was a former member of High Point Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas, where she helped as a Nursery Attendant. She had worked for the State of Kansas for 33 years, before retiring as an Adjudicator in 2009. She was a member of the Job’s Daughters, and she often volunteered to teach elderly people how to read. Barbara enjoyed cooking, reading, shopping, going to estate sales, and collecting clowns. She loved having company around her, always spending time with her family and her many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and 1 sister, Debbie Harris.
Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Rod Gustin of the home; 5 Children, David Preece and his wife Wendy of Murphysboro, Illinois, Jeffery Preece and his wife Janet of Gladstone, Missouri, Timothy Preece and his wife Karla of Shawnee, Kansas, Rodney Gustin and his wife Wendy of Mesa, Arizona, and Todd Preece and his wife Kelly of Rocklin, California; 4 brothers, Billy Hoenscheidt and his wife Mary Jane of Mesa, Arizona, Jim Hoenscheidt of Arizona, Kenny Hoenscheidt of Kansas City, Missouri, and Johnathon Hoenscheidt of Beverly Hills, California; 1 sister, Pat Carson of Kansas City, Kansas; 16 grandchildren, Jimmy, Brandon, Dylan, Madison, Geoffery, Garhett, Adriahna, Timothy II, Alexxis, Jacob, Tyler, Cody, Adam, Matthew, Wesley and Matthew; 4 great-grandchildren, Draven, Akira, Korin and Luc; as well as many close friends.
