Benjamin John Yang

Funeral services will be held at the Olathe Christian Church on Saturday, December 17 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm and Sunday, December 18 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. On Monday, December 19 at 10:00am, there will be a morning service at Chapel Hill followed by a burial at Gate of Heaven.

Benjamin was born on February 8, 1962 to Pang Tou Yang and Yee Lor in the country of Laos. He had a younger brother that he had to leave behind when he fled Laos to come to the United States in 1979, only to later bring his brother and his entire family to the States in 2006.

Once in the States, Benjamin ended up in Kansas City and graduated from JC Harmon High School and afterwards went to study Business and Finance at the University of Kansas and then later graduated from Park University. He went on to spend the majority of his career years working as an Insurance Agent providing services and coverage for many in Kansas and several Hmong families in surrounding states.

In 1988, he married Mai Her and went on to have four children, Yia Yang, Cheeng Yang, Adora Yang, and Amarylis Yang. He was a devoted husband and a loving father. Anyone who knew him knew that he was always happy and silly and loved to make sure that those around him were also happy. He spent his entire life demonstrating how much he loved his family through his actions and how hard he worked every single day.

Benjamin was also a God-fearing man and served his church in various positions over the years including youth president in his youth years and chairman, elder, youth sponsor, youth director and more during his adult years.

Benjamin was predeceased by his parents Pang Tou Yang and Yee Lor. He is survived by his wife, all four children, daughter-in-law, younger brother, two half sisters and stepmother.
