Mrs Betty J Gordon Gaitan

Betty Jean Gordon was born on January 24, 1930, in Kansas City, Kansas to the union of John Gordon of Paris, Texas and Litcy Perry of Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Betty accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the Walnut Boulevard Baptist Church . She attended Northeast Junior High School and Sumner High School graduating in 1948.

Betty J. Gordon was united in holy matrimony to Fernando J. Gaitan on January 8, 1948 in Kansas City , Kansas . To this union were born four sons, Fernando J. Gaitan, Jr., Donnyel Gaitan, Evaristo Gaitan, and Amalio Gaitan. Donnyel preceded her in death. Betty raised her children with loving care at the family home in Kansas City , KS . She instilled in them a love for family and the thirst for education and knowledge. Her love for her children extended to her grandchildren who enjoyed her generous love and affection. The latter years of her life were spent at Victory Hills Assisted Living, Kansas City Kansas and thereafter , Truman Medical Center Lakewood, Long Term Care Center , Kansas City, MO. , where she and her husband, Fernando, were lovingly attended to by the staff and residents who took a personal interest in their care. She departed this life on Thursday, December 2, 2010.

Betty J. Gaitan leaves to cherish her memories her husband of 62 years, Fernando J. Gaitan, Sr., Kansas City, MO.; three sons, Chief U. S. Judge Fernando J. Gaitan, Jr. (Sylvia), Lee’s Summit, MO.; Apostle Evaristo Gaitan, (Jocelyn), Kansas City, KS.; Amalio V. Gaitan, (Venessa), Kansas City, KS.; ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends. A funeral Service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 6, 2010 at the Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens immediately following the funeral service. Visitation will be 9:00-11:00 a.m. Monday, December 6, 2010 prior to the service at the funeral home.
