Betty was born to Wilbur and Beatrice (Maxwell) Sharp, in Kansas City, KS on February 17th, 1934.
She was a proud graduate of Washington High School, class of 1952, in Kansas City, KS. Where she excelled in her studies and was involved in choir.
She was married to Donald A. Farrell whom she had 5 children with. They later divorced.
She married Harold Thompson in 1991 whom she lovingly spent her life with.
Betty was a leader and set the bar in anything she participated in throughout her life. First and foremost she was a mother, pouring love into her five children. Although she didn’t start working outside the home well into her 40’s, she proudly retired after becoming a Manager at Heart of America Title Insurance. She was an avid fan of Betty Boop. She loved singing and performing at Countryside Park in Donna, TX; where her and Harold spent their winters for many years. She also enjoyed gardening, baking, and traveling. But most of all, her most cherished time was spent with her family.
Betty is survived by her husband, Harold Thompson. Her 4 sons; Greg Farrell, Brad Farrell, Kevin Farrell, and Lance (Zoila) Farrell. Her 2 step-children: Cheryl (Willy) George, Buddy Thompson and Her sister, June Fleming. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. And many other extended family and dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter; Cheryl Farrell Hiller, and her siblings; Donald Sharp, Inez Slaven, and James Sharp.
Betty was truly a gift to those who knew and loved her. Her love will resonate with us all forever and we will miss her deeply. We take solace in her reunion with her dear daughter, Cheryl.
Her life will be celebrated on January 20th, 2025 at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral home in Kansas City, KS. Visitation will be from 9-11am, and a service will follow from 11-12pm; where her family and friends will gather to honor her incredible life and legacy.
