

Bonnie was born in Jefferson City, Missouri, on November 24, 1935 and attended Jefferson City High School where she graduated in 1953. Her fondest memories of high school included art class and Missouri State Capitol caroling during the Christmas season.
After high school, Bonnie worked for various organizations including the Missouri Division of Insurance located at the Jefferson Building in Jefferson City, Missouri. In 1954, Bonnie married Howard V. Barnard, Jr. who preceded her in death.
After raising their children, Bonnie was employed in child care work for several years. She also traveled and enjoyed her visits to see the giant sequoia trees in California, Rocky Mountain National Park, the San Antonio River Walk with her daughter, Sharon, Epcot Center in Florida, and the Precious Moments Chapel and Gardens in Carthage, Missouri. Each spring, she looked forward to working in her yard and tending to her front yard flower garden.
Bonnie was also preceded in death by both of her parents, two brothers, George and Fred, a nephew, Paul, and a niece, Sherry. She is survived by her children, David, Daniel, Susan and Sharon, her grandchildren, and her nieces, Amy, Joy, and Cindy.
Graveside services for the family followed by interment took place at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at 11:00 AM.
