Clarence Allen Hembree

Clarence Allen Hembree, passed away May 28, 2019 at home surrounded by family. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00pm, Friday, May 31, 2019 at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS 66112. Funeral services will be 10:30am, Saturday, June 1, 2019 at the funeral home. Interment with Honors will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Clarence was born November 12, 1938 in Bolivar, Missouri to Clarence H. and Edna Root-Hembree. He graduated from high school in Bolivar, Missouri in 1956. Clarence served in the Air Force from 1956-1960 as an aviation mechanic, working on B-48s. He was joined in marriage to Delma Warren on March 25, 1958. After his Honorable Discharge from the military, Clarence started work as a die-cutter and maker and eventually owned his own die-cutter as well. He retired in 2004 and owned his own business which he ran until 2015. Clarence was a hard worker and often had to stay busy. He enjoyed gardening and wood-working and his specialty was clocks – he could make a clock out of anything! Clarence had a wonderful sense of humor and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence H. and Edna Mildred Root-Hembree; his brother, Jim Hembree; his granddaughter, Erin Nicole Hembree; and his nephews, Larry Ray and J.C.

Clarence is survived by his wife of 61 years, Delma (Warren) Hembree; his siblings, Rosalie “Sis” Hembree, and Lindsey Hembree; his sons, Allen LaDean Hembree, Michael Eugene Hembree (Mary), Steven Scott Hembree (Sarah); his grandchildren, Rebecca Ann Hembree-Wilson (Tim), Latoyia Sandlin, Tyler Joseph Hembree, Andrew Scott Hembree, and Alexis Kelly Hembree; his great-grandchildren, Samara, Braxton, Timperance, Makayla, Samantha, Charlie, June, and Sariah; his nieces and nephews, Patty Kay, Mary Kay, Lois Jean, Billy, Donnie, Alice, Charles, and David, as well as other relatives and friends.
