

Diane Marie Coppage, 62, of Kansas City, Kansas went to be with the Lord on August 28, 2016. Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Lenexa Christian Center, 17500 West 87th Street, Lenexa, Kansas 66219. Friends may call from 10:30-11:00 am at the church. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112.
Diane was born March 16, 1954 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Jimmy and Willie Mae Jones. She graduated from Dollarway High School and married the love of her life, Richard B. Coppage on January 10, 1974. They have raised three wonderful children together. Diane worked for Providence Hospital's radiology department and retired after 25 years of service from JC Penney Distribution Center. She was involved in her church, Lenexa Christian Center, helping with Youth Ministries, the Refuge for Young Mothers program, and the Women’s Bible Study. Diane volunteered her time with many worthy charities, such as the Harvesters, Heart of America, and the Red Cross. She was also an avid reader, enjoyed journaling, shopping, gardening, listening to jazz, and spending time with her family. Whenever she could, Diane would find her way on a plane to a new destination, she loved cruises, especially to the Islands, her most recent trip was to San Francisco and Napa Valley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Willie Mae Jones; and her brother, Ray Jones.
Diane is survived by her husband of 42 years, Richard B. Coppage, her sons, Karieem Coppage (Erin) of Lenexa, and Jelani Coppage (Shaunté) of KCK; her daughter, Aneesah Anderson (Matthew) of McKinney, TX; her ten grandchildren, Ishmael Coppage, Jibri Coppage, Isaiah Coppage, Elijah Coppage, Naeem Coppage, Emir Coppage, Journey Anderson, Amari Coppage, ShaDayé Coppage, and Zoe Anderson; her siblings, Jimmy Jones, Harry Jones, Anne Jasper (John), Joe Jones (Cheryl), Stanley Jones, Jackie Owens (Frank), Jennifer Vives-Jones, and Mark Jones (Vivian); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, sister-in-loves, brother-in-loves, and dear friends.
