Edward K. Richards "Bud", age 77, passed away peacefully on Jan. 29, 2016. He was born to Samuel and Mildred (Doleshal) Richards in Kansas City, KS. After graduating from Washington High School, Bud went to work for Southwestern Bell and retired after 42 years of service.
Bud never met a stranger and leaves an enduring legacy of caring and compassion for friends and family who will miss him dearly. In retirement, he enjoyed his grandchildren's sporting events, riding his Harley, eating good BBQ and trading stocks. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Dolores Day. Bud is survived by his wife of 54 years, Janet; his two sons, Brian (Jackie) Richards of Cumming, GA and Jeff (Renea) Richards of Olathe, KS; his four grandchildren Nicholas, Amanda, Jessica, Jordan; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10-11am at Chapel Hill-Butler in KCK. The funeral service will commence at 11am. The family is grateful to the wonderful people of Interim Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
