Forrest Borden was born in Kansas City, Kansas on January 16, 1926, the son of Fred and Genevieve Borden. He graduated from De La Salle Academy before honorably serving in the U. S. Navy as a signalman in WWII. Following his military service, Forrest returned to Kansas City and embarked on a 39 year career with Proctor and Gamble, retiring in 1986.
Forrest married his loving wife Dorothea Hanis in 1947, a love that lasted for 73 years until Dorothy’s death in 2020. Forrest and Dorothy were blessed with three daughters, who were the focus of their lives. Throughout his career, and even more so in their retirement, Forrest and Dorothy enjoyed taking their growing family on many international adventures.
Forest returned to His Heavenly Father on January 19, 2024, after 98 years as a loving husband, father, and friend to all those who were fortunate to know him. He is survived by his daughters: Julianne (Bob) Watkins; Carole (Tom) Rastok; and Lynn (Ron) McMillian. Grandchildren: Tracie (Dieter) Hase; Scott (Kim) Watkins; Eric (Regan Billingsley) Dinges; Brent Borden; Nick (Catie) McMillian; Jessica McMillian; Alex (Jocelin) McMillian and 16 great grandchildren, all of whom cherish his memory and miss him greatly.
