Gary Robert Henderson

Gary Robert Henderson, 83, of Gladstone, Missouri, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025, in his daughter's home, surrounded by family. Gary was born on August 1, 1941, in Assumption, Illinois, to his mother, Clara Vilmur.

Gary was a longtime resident of Gladstone, Missouri. He dedicated many years of his life as an airplane mechanic at TWA and American Airlines from 1968 until 2003. Gary graduated from Washington High School in 1959, and continued his education at Kansas City Kansas Community College.

Gary had a passion for life and enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports, tending to his garden, traveling, and spending time outdoors hunting quail, pheasant and fishing with friends.

Gary was preceded in death by his mother, Clara Vilmur, his wife, Delores Henderson, and his stepdaughter, Loralyn Delich.

He is survived by his daughter, Tammy (Kirk) Herken; stepchildren, Louis Adams and Lisa (Dennis) Trowbridge; grandchildren, Macy (Antonio) Gaytan, Payton (Parker) Stafford, Reid (Cassandra) Herken, Amy Lumley, Ashley Lumley, Adam Delich, and Alex Delich; 14 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to NKC Hospice or KC Hospice and Pallative Care in Gary’s name.
