Harry John Cornwell, born December 9, 1946 to Harry Sylvester and Ona Mae Cornwell in Kansas City, KS went on to be with Jesus on December 30, 2023. Harry, a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather is preceded in death by his parents, sister Leona, and mother of his children Jennece. He leaves behind his brother Bob (Cheri), sister Judy, and wife Donna. Those continuing his legacy are his children Darren (Michelle) and Kerri (Jorge), stepson Todd (Kristena), grandchildren Ksee, Brittany, Zachary, Travis, Ashlee, Kaela, Brandon, Kynleigh, and Christopher, and great-grandchildren Trinitee, Kassidee, Remington, and Justin Jr.
Harry was a multi-faceted man. A man before his time he attended and graduated from Emporia State College obtaining a degree working with computers. He worked and retired from Mobil Oil for years, retiring from there in 1988. An avid camper, Harry spent many nights under the stars with friends and family. He was a member of the Wyandotte Campers Association with the National Campers Hikers Association (NCHA) for many years and will be remembered for far too many stories that can be told in a short space. Not one to stay still for long, Harry loved square dancing, even to a competition level. Bowling was another passion of his. We all would agree though, no matter what, Harry was never too busy to help others.
A family man, Harry loved his wife, children, and later grandchildren and great grandchildren. Whether it was fixing things around the house, going to games, or even playing a simple game of catch, Harry made the point to share his love with each of them. Many days were spent at concerts, birthday parties, and general family events.
