unexpectedly on October 31, 2021 at age 52 in Denver, Colorado. Jamie Arwine was preceded
in death by her father, Robert Lynn Arwine, and her son, Curtis. Jamie leaves behind her
mother, Rosemarie Arwine, nieces; Rebecca and Vanessa Mahan, nephews; James Mahan and
Bradley Mitchell, as well as an estranged sister, Jennifer Arwine-Lucas. Further, Jamie leaves
behind numerous friends, family, and cousins who all loved her very dearly.
She was born to Robert and Rosemarie Arwine on August 21, 1969. As a child, Jamie was full
of life and adventure. After graduating from high school, Jamie served in the U.S Army. As an
adult, Jamie followed her dream of motherhood and became a foster mother to Curtis. Jamie
had a relationship with Curtis for all of his life and loved her son dearly until his passing. Jamie
was the most caring and selfless person, always putting others before herself.
Jamie made it a priority to spend time with her family and friends, organize get-togethers, and
never missed a birthday. She introduced everyone to her love of Star Wars. She was a
prankster and filled her home and our lives with happiness, love, and fun. Most weekends were
spent enjoying life.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11am Monday, November 22nd, 2021 at the Chapel Hill-Butler
Funeral Home in Kansas City, Kansas. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 10am, also at the chapel. The family requests that attendees wear matching sweatsuits (a sweatshirt and sweatpants in similar colors) and tennis shoes as that was Jamie’s favorite outfit. Inurnment will be immediately following in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Please plan to wear a mask.
