Jane Trowbridge

Ella J. “Jane” Nelson Trowbridge, 90, of Kansas City, KS died peacefully at home on December 21, 2011. She was born in Kansas City, KS on August 20, 1921 to Edgar and Anna (Schwartz) Nelson.

Jane proudly served in the United States Marine Corp for two years during WWII. Afterwards, she worked in the office of Crown Drug Company. Later she worked for Sangamon Card Company and K-Mart, servicing the greeting card area.

She was a charter member of the Women in Military Service for America Memorial Foundation.

On December 31, 1947, Jane married Leo Trowbridge, her loving husband of 38 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a sister, Grace Kitchell.

Jane is survived by daughters DeAnn Bartkoski (John) of Basehor, KS, Donna Domsch (Ron) of Shawnee, KS, and son Daniel Trowbridge (Angie) of Leavenworth, KS. She is survived by eleven grandchildren, Dr. Nicholas Bartkoski, Katie Bartkoski, Matthew Bartkoski, Steven Bartkoski (Rachel), Elizabeth Bartkoski, Amelia Bartkoski, Jennifer Bohr (Casey), Bobby Domsch, Daniel Domsch, Branden Trowbridge and Kylie Trowbridge; two great-grandsons, Dayton Bohr and Bruce Bartkoski; and a sister, Betty Pennington.

A celebration of her life will be at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1086 North 94th Street, Kansas City, KS where she was a member for 64 years. Visitation will be at the church on Monday, December 26 from 4-7 PM, Rosary will be Prayed at 6:45 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on December 27. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
