Janet Lynn Spradlin

Janet was born on January 4th, 1952, in Kansas City, Kansas, the second of two daughters, to Orville James Valentine and Viola Nathalie (Simpson) Valentine.

She was a beacon of light and brought joy to those around her. She loved everyone, but had a special gift for "loving the one" - making you feel loved individually and specifically. She always knew when you needed a smile, a hug or a call. Her faith was unshakable, and she met death with grace and confidence in her standing with God and with the work she had accomplished in this life.

Janet loved to make others smile and laugh, and had an adventurous spirit. She also loved bringing family together and spent much of her final years road-tripping solo across the country to visit family, share and collect stories, and to gather missing information which she used to contribute to the genealogy work she enjoyed.

Preceded in death by her father, mother, sister, and her daughter, Stephanie, she is survived by four children; Jacob, Andrea, Caleb and Nathan; 15.5 grandchildren; and her stepbrother Anthony. Janet's legacy will be one of joy and laughter, loving the one, and faith always.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, January 31st at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 8616 Haskell Ave, Kansas City, KS 66109.
