J.P. was born August 1, 1978 in Shawnee Mission, Kansas to Dennis and Janice Paterson. He graduated from Washington High School, where he played baseball and basketball. J.P. worked as a manager in telemarketing and received many awards for excellence in management. He enjoyed watching movies, listening to music, relaxing at the lake, cheering on the Chiefs and the Royals, and playing with his dog Pele. J.P. had a quirky sense of humor and will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
J.P. is survived by his parents, Dennis and Janice Paterson; his brother, Charlie Paterson and his wife Lexy; his sister, Sarah Paterson; his nieces and nephews, Maliq, Noah, Alexis, Jayden, Baylee and Jaycee Paterson; and his dog, Pele; as well as many other family members and many friends.
