Jerry Ray Nelson

Jerry Ray Nelson, 81, Kansas City, Kansas, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2016. The visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. with the Funeral Services following at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Grandview Park Presbyterian Church located at 1613 Wilson Boulevard, in Kansas City, Kansas. The burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Kansas City, Kansas. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Church. Jerry was born April 17, 1934, in Moberly, Missouri, the son of Luther and Alice Nelson. He was employed by Safeway as a manager for over 35 years before retirement. Jerry was an Elder at Grandview Park Church and loved spending time at Horn Creek. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and a sister. Jerry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Dolores Nelson, children, Greg (Diana) Behrens, Eric (Melanie) Nelson, Rick (DeDe) Behrens, Melissa (Terry) McKay, 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
