Jim Gutierrez

Jim was born January 18, 1959 in Deming, New Mexico to Jim and Viola Gutierrez. He graduated from Ramona High School in California and attended some college at RCC. He was a County Supervisor in Riverside, California and his family moved to Kansas City in 2001. Jim was a Safety Supervisor for Deffenbaugh. He loved football, especially the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and he was one heck of a griller. Jim was a wonderful musician, he played the bass guitar and everyone enjoyed his singing voice. He was a painter, artist and he was a loving family man.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Nancy Gutierrez, and his parents. He is survived by his three children Jim “Andy” Gutierrez and his wife Marni of Lenexa, daughter Ariel Gutierrez of Kansas City, Kansas, son Nicholas “Nick” Gutierrez of Kansas City, Kansas; three grandchildren, Amelia and Roland Preuitt and Fletcher Gutierrez, his siblings, Vivian Hutzley, Leonard Gutierrez, Veronica McPeak, Adrian Gutierrez and Vincente Gutierrez; his father and mother-in-law Jim and Golda Houchins as well as many other friends and family.
