Joseph Tucker Sr.

Joseph “Joe” Tucker, Sr. 90, passed away September 3, 2014. A visitation will be held Saturday, September 13th from 1-2:00 PM with funeral service to follow at 2 PM at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., KCKS 66112.

Joe was born October 17, 1923 in Greenville, MS. Joe served honorably in the United States Army. Joe married Etta Jean Howell and was married for 39 years before her passing on July 27, 2013.

Joe spent his years working on automobiles, and made his living doing such. He enjoyed the outdoors, whether it be working in his garden, mowing the grass, or simply sitting outside to pass the time.

He enjoyed flying with his wife when he had the time. He had his pilot’s license, and made good use of it.

Joe was a hardworking, God fearing, honest man. He leaves behind not only memories, but lessons learned, experience gained, and what not to do in life.

Joe leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Catherine Sims, Mildred Smith, Joseph Tucker, Jr., Tony Farmer, Tony Sulet, Denise Tucker, Matthew Tucker and Patrick Tucker; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 1 sister; and 1 brother Otis Tucker.
