Kenneth, also known as Kenny, was born May 8, 1935 to Willard Henry Hankinson and Anna Elizabeth Sebel in Kansas City, Kansas. He had health issues at birth, necessitating amputation of his left leg above the knee at age three, in which he endured a wooden peg leg until he was 16, and then an artificial limb that could bend. Kenny never let any of this hold him back in his attitude on life nor on what he could accomplish. He graduated from Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, Kansas and subsequently graduated from University of Kansas. Kenny met the love of his life, Marilyn, and they married in June of 1960. He worked as Personnel Director of Goodwill Industries in KC, MO, and the last 26 years of employment were spent with the Mental Health Department for the State of Missouri as coordinator for purchasing contracts for group houses, until he retired in 2000. Kenny enjoyed hunting and fishing with his boys, was a hunter safety instructor, and a life member of Optimist International. Kenny especially enjoyed spending time with his family and family dinner gatherings.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, David, and the love of his life, Marilyn Kay (Wright) in 2009. Kenneth is survived by his 4 sons, Dan (Sherry) of Elkland, MO, Keith (Beth) of K.C. KS, Mike (Sharon) of K.C. KS, and Scott (Christina) of Lake of the Ozarks, MO; his sister, Shannon Thomas (David) of Lawrence, KS, 10 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
