Loreane T. Brulja

Loreane T. Brulja, 98, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away January 24, 2019 at home surrounded by family. Funeral services will be Wed., Jan. 30, 2019 at 11:00am, with visitation time from 10:00-11:00am preceding the service, all at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS 66112. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Loreane was born Sept. 2, 1920 in Harrison, Arkansas to Troy and Clarsey Gooch. She married the love of her life, Louis Brulja on March 19, 1938. Loreane worked for the Russell Stover’s Candy Factory in Kansas City, MO, as well as the Ball’s Grocery Bakery, however, her joy and focus was her family and taking care of her home. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 57 years, Louis Brulja; her three sisters, Pauline Hendricks, Maxine Pittenger, and Helen Price; and her only grandson, Doug Brulja.

Loreane is survived by her children, Don Brulja (Loueta) of Basehor, KS, Rick Brulja (Bonnie Buxton) of Hoschton, GA, and Debbie Sellers (Tim) of KCK; her granddaughter, Tracy Thomas (Mike) of Tonganoxie, KS; her great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Brulja of Portland, OR, Tyler Thomas (Melissa) of Shawnee, KS, and Blake Thomas of Tonganoxie, KS; her great-great grandchildren, Luke and Jameson Thomas of Shawnee; and her brother, Jim Gooch (Jill) of Marble Falls, TX.
