Marcella Jean Volk-Alderman

Marcella Jean Volk-Alderman, 91, of Lee's Summit passed away on June 6 at her home. Marcella is preceded in death by her husband Joe Volk and her daughter Marsha Brunssen. She is survived by her granddaughter Stacy Berens, Dustin Berens and Great grandson Daxton, Her daughter Jan Shirey and Paul Shirey along with grandson Paul Jr and his wife Tami and great-granddaughter Kelsey, Phillip and Brenda Shirey and great grandson Zeb.

Marcella worked in a dry cleaners for 40 years as a pressor and had a special eye for detail. Marcella enjoyed spending time with her family, going dancing, and getting manicures where she would always choose Coca-Cola Red. Marcella had an insatiable sweet tooth and never met a dessert she didn’t like. She had perfected the eye roll and was extremely witty. Marcella was one of a kind, who had a difficult childhood but definitely made up for it in her later years. She will be sorely missed, but we have been blessed with many memories. Visitation will be held Monday June 11 at Chapel Hill – Butler, 701 N. 94th St., KCK from 11-12 with a graveside service immediately following in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
