Visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, and the funeral service will be the following day on his 69th birthday April 28, 2022 at 10 am. Both will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 701 N 94th St Kansas City, KS 66112.
Mark was born the son of Paul F. Gaster Jr. and Beth L. Gaster on April 28, 1953 in Kansas City, KS and had been a lifetime area resident. He graduated from Washington High School in 1971 and served as senior class president. He worked at the GM Fairfax plant with his father and brother Rick and retired after 30+ years. He played sports throughout high school and enjoyed cheering on the KU Jayhawks and Kansas City Chiefs. He enjoyed anything outdoors including camping, fishing, boating, and in his younger days, water skiing. He was an avid Lakeside Speedway and Nascar fan and attended the inaugural race among others at the Kansas Speedway. He loved to bbq and was an excellent cook. He was a beloved father and grandfather, and his grandsons were his pride and joy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents and brother in law Jerry Garlett. Mark is survived by daughter Lauren & husband Aaron Cassity, grandsons Henry & Oliver Cassity, ex-wife Cheryl Gaster, brother Rick & wife Carol Gaster, sisters Vickey Garlett, Dawn and husband Roy Finney, and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed.
