Mary Lou was born on March 24, 1939 in Kansas City, Kansas to Harold and Mary Brune. She attended Washington High School. She graduated from Kansas University Medical Center of Nursing in 1961 and enjoyed a long and fulfilling career in nursing.
Mary Lou is survived by her daughter Mary Beth (Alan) Pope of Charlotte, NC; her sons, Bill (Holly) Erwin of Annandale, VA, Tom (Kirsten) Erwin of Roanoke, VA, and Michael (Joanna) Erwin of Richmond, VA; her grandchildren Rich, Mary Catherine, and Anna Pope of Charlotte, NC, Wade and Craig Erwin of Annandale, VA, Aidan and Connor Erwin of Roanoke, VA, and Carter and Cash Erwin of Richmond, VA.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Dr. Harold Eugene Brune.
