This is picture of Aunt Mary and my dad back in the  late 1950’s. I think it is very beautiful and nostalgic photo so I had to upload it! I have so many memories of my Aunt Mary it is hard for me to just one. I remember all the wonderful Christmas eves at Aunt Mary’s house. It just alway seemed so magical ! It was her that made it magical with her smile and her spirit! She had way of making you feel special! One thing I will miss the most  is our visits and having coffee at my mom’s house! She would always say you going to your mom’s to visit and have coffee. We would sit and talk for hours about life or just anything that was on our minds. I remember after my Aunt Donna died she had left me collection of opera records because she knew I sang opera.  My Aunt Mary liked opera too but we had no record player to play them on so she  went to  a garage sale and bought a record player and we would sit in her kitchen and listen to them all night long.  In this fast paced world people don’t really just visit anymore or even use the word visit but my Aunt Mary did ! They broke  the mold when she was created! One of her last texts to me was Aww I miss our visits and I told her we  would visit real soon. She replied okay we will❤️ I love you  so much Aunt Mary and I can’t imagine a world without you in it! I will always treasure our special relationship and the memories!

I have so many special memories of my Aunt Mary.  I love this photo of her with my mom. Aunt Mary was kind, funny and generous. She also had a big heart. When someone cried, she would cry, too. It could be sad or happy tears depending on the story or situation. Some of my best memories of growing up took place at her house. She always seemed to have company and loved it. When my sister Cindy and I grew older, she would offer us a cup of hot tea as the aunts sat and had coffee. And she would get out her special China cups just for us. As adults, she would give us a glass of wine on Christmas Eve in her special crystal glasses. One year she walked over to her Christmas tree and took off a beautiful porcelain ornament of a bluebird and gave it to me. She said, "there has to be a bird in every tree." I think of her every year when I put that ornament on my tree. As I grew older, whenever I would see her she would say "Hey, babe, how are you? So good to see you!" She would always ask about my boys and my husband.  Life will not be the same without her. I have known her and felt loved and protected by her my whole life. The grief is hard, but I hope in time it will dissipate and leave me with only the special memories of her. I was so, so lucky to have her in my life. Rest in peace, sweet Aunt Mary.

I will miss my sister more than you’ll ever know she was my sister for 80 years we had a special bond  It was always coffee time at my house.She would always say can we go in the back room .A little family room where we could see the birds ,deer and any wild animal She loved it so much. She had a good sense of humor. She loved my daughters so so much and they loved her also. I never refused her coming out because she loved it so much. I wish everybody could have seen that side of her. She was special to me Joann martin
