

Nellie “Nell” Irene Cloughley, 88, passed away March 8, 2014. A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 12th at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS from 3:30 to 5:30 PM with a Memorial service to follow at Grandview Christian Church, 8550 Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, KS. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Rd. Ste. 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
Nell was born March 23, 1925 to Ray Jones and Ethel (Richardson) Jones. During her lifetime she lived in Higginsville, MO, Bristol, TN and Kansas City, KS. She was a member of the Grandview Christian Church. Nell worked as a professional seamstress for Wee Winnie and Danny Dare and also out of her home. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, quilting, and dancing. Nell was an avid reader and loved to travel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Ethel Jones; former husbands, Clarence Wheeler and Roy Cloughley; son, Morris Wheeler and siblings, Annabel Jones, Opal Goring and Tom Jones. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Steven Wheeler; daughter-in-law, Donna Wheeler; daughter, Regina McIntosh; grandchildren, Jeffrey Wheeler and wife Chasity, Rachel Wheeler and husband James Andrews; Jonathan Wheeler and fiancé Melissa Steinmetz; great grandchildren, Kirsten Wheeler, Ethan Wheeler, Lukas Wheeler, Payton Wheeler, Vivian Andrews and Lydia Andrews. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, her extraordinary neighbors and Grandview Christian Church family.
