Parliner Elmer

Perliner Elmer, 77, of KCK passed away August 28, 2012 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Visitation will be Saturday, September 1, 2012 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Forest Grove Baptist Church, 1417 North 9th Street, Kansas City, Kansas. A Celebration Of Life Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Church. Interment will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112 on Tuesday, September 4.

Perliner Elmer was born on May 23, 1935 in Chicot, Arkansas to the late Joe Moye and Lula (Cousnard) Moye. She was the fourth of nine children: six boys and three girls. She received her schooling in Chicot, Arkansas.

Perliner married George W. Elmer, Jr. on April 18, 1959 to this union they had eight children: six sons and two daughters. She had a career in nursing and specialized as a private duty nurse. She enjoyed quilting, knitting and cooking. She was a faithful mother and willing worker of the Forest Grove Missionary Baptist Church, vice-president of the Mother’s Board and dedicated member of the Rebekah Circle.

Perliner was preceded in death by her husband George W. Elmer, Jr., two sisters: Edna Baker and Odell Newbill as well as two brothers: Joe Moye and Laymond Moye.

She leaves many family members to cherish her memory, six sons: Jerrie (Rose Mary) Elmer of Pine Bluff, Ark., Charles (Linda) Elmer of KCK, George G. (Betty) Elmer of Omaha, NE; Joe O. of KCK, Donald W. (Stachia) Elmer of Houston, TX, Ronald C. (LaShawn) Elmer of Mesquite, TX; two daughters: Pamela K. (Larry) Smith of KCK, and Margaret L. Mosley of KCK; four brothers: Raymond (Bernice) Moye of McDonald Georgia, Herman Moye of KCMO, Haywood Moye of KCK, Lloyd (Erma) Moye of KCK, brother-in-law Retauth Newbill of KCK, sisters-in-law Octavia L. Abner of DeSoto, TX, Lovie J. Finley of KCK as well as the special and loving extended family of the late Thomas M. Palmer: Marvis Lawrence, Joyce Dotson, Nettie Carroll, Princess Jones, JC Palmer, Vernon Palmer, Gene Palmer and George Palmer.
