

Patricia Ann (Soptick) Scheibe (86) born May 23, 1939 in Kansas City, Kansas passed away Friday November 28, 2025 surrounded by friends and family. Pat attended St. Joseph grade school in Kansas City, Kansas and Loretto Academy High School in Kansas City, Missouri.
She is survived by her her children Denise Gray, Colleen (Keith) Charlton, Wayne Scheibe (Roxanne), Theresa Lacer, Kathie (Jason)Thomas, 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her brothers Paul (Rita), George (Val), Jim (Cindy), and Gerry (Chris), and sister Debbie Thompson (Patrick).
She was preceded in death by her husband Dave, of 55 years, parents Paul and Vera Soptick, infant daughters Rose and Becky, grandchildren Wendy Gray Doty and Brent Gray.
Pat was a Camp Fire Leader for all of her daughters. After they were no longer in Camp Fire, she continued as an adult member and served on the local board, Making her a member for over 25 years and a winner of the Gulick award. She also occasionally worked as a substitute teacher
Pat was a member of Landlords Inc. and was in charge of writing and publishing the newsletter for several years.
She worked as a lunch lady after she no longer had kids to take care of at home.
Pat loved to volunteer because of her caring and giving nature. She spent many hours at Holy Angels church in many capacities, CWO, prayer chain, funeral dinners, food kitchen, delivering Christmas gifts, organizing the church directory
Although Pat was not a professional, she was known by her family and friends as "the photographer" as she always had her camera available documenting every event.
A visitation will be held at Holy Angels Catholic Church, located at 15440 Leavenworth Road, Basehor, Kansas 66007, on December 4, 2025, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 am. Burial will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
