Patrick F. Lyons, 93, passed away October 17, 2014. A visitation will be held Tuesday, October 21st from 9:00-10:00 AM with the funeral service to follow at 10:00 AM at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS 66112. Interment will follow with military honors at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Patrick was born in the Philippines on March 17, 1921 to Edward and Grace (Ward) Lyons. He grew up in Moberly, MO and then moved to Kansas City to work for Phillips 66. During WWII he served in the United States Army Air Corps. After the war, he returned to Kansas City to work for Phillips 66 where he retired in 1982. He married Rose Rehorick in 1946. He was a fan of the Missouri Tigers and the Kansas City Royals. In his free time, Patrick loved to go fishing with his sons.
He is preceded in death by his wife Rose of 63 years; parents; and half-brother and half-sister. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his sons; Patrick F. Lyons, Glenn C. (Therese) Lyons, and Martin K. (Rosita) Lyons; grandchildren, Matthew (Alison), James (Marissa), David (Narda) and Stephanie Lyons and 3 great-grandsons.
