Richard E Rauter

Richard E. Rauter, 75, passed away January 11, 2014. A visitation will be held Monday, January 13th from 4:00-8:00 PM and a memorial service Tuesday, January 14th at 10:00 AM at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Richard was born January 10, 1939 to Richard L. and Loretta Rauter. He grew up in the KCK area and throughout his life lived in KCK, Overland Park and Fountain Hills. Richard graduated from Washington High School and joined the United States Army. He was a member of Christ the King Parish. During his life, he worked at General Motors, TWA, and Prairie Life Fitness. Richard was a member of the American Legion. He loved KU basketball, dancing and playing ping pong.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Richard L. Rauter and Loretta Rauter and brother, William Rauter. He leaves behind to cherish his memory a brother, Tim (Barbara) Rauter; sons, Richard (Barbara) Snitker, Brian (Becky) Rauter, Kevin Rauter and Jason (Mary Lynn) Rauter; 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
