

Robert “Bob” “Pops” Hand, 67, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00pm, Thursday, March 5th at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Funeral services will be 10:00am, Friday, March 6th at the funeral home. Interment with Honors will follow the service in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Bob was born November 14, 1947 in Kansas City, Kansas to William and Audrey Hand. He attended Argentine High School and joined the Army in 1968. While on leave, Bob married the love of his life, Carolyn McCombs on September 21, 1968. He then returned to serve as an E5 Specialist in Korea until November of 1970. Bob worked for 28 years for GW Van Keppel as a mechanic, and was a member of the Teamsters Union #541. He loved motorcycles, hot rods and drag racing and was known to be a Jack of All Trades. Bob could do just about anything, enjoyed working in his yard, and was very organized.
He was preceded in death by his father and two sisters. Bob is survived by his mother, Audrey Hand of Independence, MO; his beloved wife of 46 years, Carolyn Hand of the home; children, Bobby Hand of Tonganoxie, Shelly Horner (Mike) of Kansas City, Kansas, Rodney Hand of the home, Ronny Hand of the home, and Randy Hand (Debbie) of Bonner Springs; sister, Peggy Crane of Harrisonville, Missouri; ten grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, nine step-great-grandchildren, and numerous brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and other family.
