Robert "Bob" H. Horner

Robert “Bob” H. Horner, 79, completed his earth journey July 25, 2013 and is now free of pain. A visitation will be held Monday, July 29th from 1:00-2:00 PM with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 at Salem Lutheran Church, 9135 Haskins Street, Lenexa, KS 66215. Interment will follow services at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 N. 94th Street, Kansas City, KS 66112. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salem Lutheran Church or Hospice of Olathe Medical Center, 20333 W. 151st Street #2-301, Olathe, Kansas 66061.

Bob was born to Herbert and Edith Horner in Kansas City, KS. He graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1952. After graduation, he joined the United States Army. After serving his country, Bob went to Finley College and earned his Mechanical Engineer degree. On September 14, 1957 he married Kathleen “Kathy” Karcher. During his life, Bob worked for Brunson, Vendo, IDI, and KCI as a Mechanical Engineer. He enjoyed spending time with children and grandchildren and attending their various events.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Edith. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 55 years, Kathy; sons, Marty (Mary) Horner and Scott (Leanna) Horner; daughter, Lisa (Matt) Otto; brother, Mark (Jan) Horner; and grandchildren, Reid Otto, Katy Otto, Drew Otto, and Beth Otto.
